The Spirit of Giving
Giving is a divine virtue, and in Sikhism, Daswandh (ਦਸਵੰਧ) is the practice of contributing one-tenth (10%) of one’s earnings towards Guru’s mission and community welfare. It is not merely charity; it is anact of devotion, gratitude, and service.
Daswandh – A Divine Principle
The word “Daswandh” comes from “Das” (ten) and “Wandh” (to share), meaning to dedicate a portion of our earnings, time, or resources for the well-being of humanity. By giving Daswandh, we recognize that all our blessings come from Guru Sahib and must be shared selflessly.
